Jon is a professional shakuhachi Japanese bamboo flute maker of all-natural Jinashi shakuhachi and currently the only American shakuhachi maker on his way to mastering a traditional style. Jon's teacher gave him the title Shingetsu which is derived from his teacher's titles Nyo-getsu and Rei-shin. It translates literally as "heart moon" and means heart-mind-spirit of clarity.
